WHO WE ARE
Aldersgate Renewal Ministries (ARM) is a non-political and non-adversarial movement that is committed to guide individuals and churches, especially those within the Wesleyan heritage, to encounter the Holy Spirit, equipping them for ministry, and encouraging them to live supernatural, Spirit-filled lives.
ARM encourages dialogue within the Wesleyan Theology streams and seeks to interpret the movement of the Holy Spirit to the church. We celebrate the richness of our Wesleyan heritage and history, recognizing that John Wesley's theology of grace is in fact a theology of the Holy Spirit.
WHO IS ARM & OUR MISSION
Encounter
We provide opportunities to encounter the supernatural power and presence of the Holy Spirit both corporately and individually.
Equip
We are called to equip the Body of Christ.
Encourage
We take seriously our call to the ministry of encouragement.
Our Mission
To equip and encourage God's people to live empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 4:11 reminds us that God gave gifts to the Body of Christ to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ. ARM seeks to nurture, educate and equip individuals and churches to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Without the Holy Spirit, the wounded keep on wounding, the hurt keep on hurting, and the aimless continue to wander. Without the Holy Spirit, the captives remain captive, the spiritually blind continue in blindness, and the spiritually deaf continue in silence. Without the Holy Spirit, prayers remain unproductive and ineffective, worship remains weak, mediocrity is propelled, and potentials are not reached. Without the Holy Spirit, instead of fulfilling the Great Commission, the church ends up sitting like the lame one at the Gate Beautiful begging from the world just to survive.
Picture instead, God supernaturally, and uniquely at work in every local church, drawing people to Himself, building His church, advancing His Kingdom, turning the world upside down.

ARM Legacy Fund
ARM Family Partners are people who have chosen to make four commitments:
to regularly Pray
to actively Participate
to intentionally Promote
to consistently Provide finances
to enable ARM to equip and encourage God's people to live empowered by the Holy Spirit.
ARM Family Partners provide the financial catalyst for ARM to minister year-round across the country and around the globe.
ARM Church Partners are congregations and fellowships who choose to enter into a mutual relationship with ARM through prayer, promotion, participation, and provision. ARM serves the partner church not only by intentional prayer but also by providing complimentary resources and registration discounts. Partner churches reciprocate by committing to pray for ARM, to participate in and promote what God is doing through ARM, and to offer financial provision to resource life-transforming equipping ministry.
We all have individuals in our lives who have contributed to our Spiritual growth and maturity. In your life, there may be someone who, through their legacy with Aldersgate Renewal Ministries, has been that person or persons for you. We have an ARM Legacy Scholarship Fund to honor those persons who, in the life of the ministry, have had such an impact.

Our History
In July of 1977, 50,000 Spirit-filled Christians gathered at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City for a conference on charismatic renewal. Over 500 United Methodists were a part of this meeting across denominational lines. Out of this historic event came a call for a fellowship to serve and to guide the growing renewal movement within the United Methodist Church.Confirming the need for such a group was a historic document adopted at the 1976 General Conference. “Guidelines: The United Methodist Church and the Charismatic Movement” signaled an official openness to the renewal of the church by the Holy Spirit.
Five United Methodist leaders responded to the call for this fellowship. Though reluctant at first, these initial runners sensed divine confirmation through prayer that, indeed, this was the will of God, not just the will of people. Ross Whetstone, Bob Tuttle, Bill Wilson, Bob Stamps and Tommy Tyson worked together, and with others, prayerfully seeking Gods will, to lay the foundation for the formation of the United Methodist Renewal Services Fellowship Incorporated.

FAQs
Yes! We were birthed out of the Methodist tribe of the Wesleyan tradition. To learn more, visit About Us.
Absolutely not! While our vineyard is primarily those in the Wesleyan Tradition, ARM seeks to help all people to develop a deeper relationship with God through Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
ARM is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation sustained solely by God's grace flowing through the gifts of individuals and churches passionate about nurturing, educating, and equipping others to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Absolutely not. While we will unashamedly teach what the Scriptures say about the Person, work, gifts, fruit and manifestations of the Holy Spirit, we will not ‘force anything upon’ or ‘make anything happen to’ you. The nature of Jesus is love and it is out of that love, grace and service that we offer ministry.
Indeed, it is. We celebrate the richness of our Wesleyan heritage and history, recognizing that John Wesley's theology of grace is, in fact, a theology of the Holy Spirit.
