Renewal for my Pastor

Aldersgate Renewal Ministries loves ministers and the work they do for the kingdom of God.  Being in ministry, ministers struggle with burnout, frustration, depression, weariness, loneliness, and emptiness.  ARM believes everyone needs ministry! 

Here are some alarming research about ministers:

  • 1,500 pastors leave the ministry each month due to moral failure, spiritual burnout, or contention in their churches.
  • 90% of pastors work more than 46 hours a week, leading to burnout.
  • 50% of pastors' marriages will end in divorce.
  • 80% of pastors believe that pastoral ministry affects their families negatively.
  • 80% of pastors and 84% of their spouses feel unqualified and discouraged in their role as pastors.
  • 50% of pastors are so discouraged that they would leave the ministry if they could, but have no other way of making a living.
  • 80% of seminary and Bible school graduates who enter the ministry will leave the ministry within the first five years.
  • 70% of pastors constantly fight depression.
  • 70% of pastors say they have a lower self-image now than when they started in the ministry.
  • 61% of pastors admit that they "have few close friends."

Pastors of Excellence - Hosted by Ashland Theological Seminary at the Aldersgate Renenwal Center, this is a 13 month transformational program specificially designed for revitalize pastors.

Doctor of Ministry in Supernatural Ministry  - United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH, one of our official United Methodist Seminaries, is partnering with Aldersgate Renewal Ministries in offering a fully accredited, 3 year Doctor of Ministry Degree in Supernatural Ministry starting in January, 2013.

Minister and Spouse Retreat 2013 - April 2-5, 2013 at the Aldersgate Renewal Center in Goodlettsville, TN.  This retreat is a four day experience to refresh and renew married couples who are involved in ministry.  Participants are encouraged and strengthened as they experience worship, prayer, and sharing from seasoned leaders.

Aldersgate 2013 Conference - At the conference, you have an opportunity to earned CEU's and come to the highly attended Clergy and Spouse Breakfast on Saturday morning with special guest speaker.  This conference is a safe place for ministers to receive prayer, worship and equipping on July 10-14, 2013 at Lexington, KY.

ARCottages - We invites you to come away for a season of rest to one of our ARCottages. Snuggled just north of Nashville, Tennessee in the cozy town of Goodlettsville, you will find the ARCottages to be a place of refreshing, renewal and intimacy with God. ARM has three private, fully furnished homes set apart for use by clergy and their families to come free of charge for refreshment and personal retreat. The ARCottages have full kitchens and washers and dryers. There are also many local restaurants,shopping and tourist attractions in the area.  Come, pray, and get away with God in the peaceful atmosphere of the ARCottages.

The Methodist School of Supernatural Ministry: Session 6 February 2014 at the Aldersgate Renewal Center in Goodlettsville, TN. Four days to train clergy and lay people from a Methodist perspective to do supernatural ministry.

A Day Apart Women’s Ministry Event "Where are you going?"  February 22-23, 2013 at the Aldersgate Renewal Center in Goodlettsville, TN.  Come for a day of worship, teaching, and fellowship with other women that are seeking communion with God.

Worship Conference 2013: Be equipped to serve and empowered to minister at the ARM Worship Conference.  Sessions are designed to minister to the unique challenges that those involved in all facets of worship ministry face in the local church.  More Information coming soon!

Ministers Retreat 2014 - September 2014 at the Aldersgate Renewal Center in Goodlettsville, TN.  This event offering clergy and ministry leaders an opportunity for a spiritual redo.  Join us for three days set aside to worship, to pray, and to connect with God and with others.  More Information coming soon!

Cross Cultural Ministry - Take an adventure to another country sharing the love of Jesus Christ with a team of sold-out Christians.  This is an unique opportunity to rediscover your love for missions and your love to tell others about God.  Brand new mission opportunity called "ARM Brazil Power Team" in late June 2013—exact dates to be determined later for 10-14 days at Santo Antonio da Platina, Brazil.

Session One: The Basics was held at our center in Goodlettsville, TN October 20-23, 2010.  We covered such topics as:  The Supernatural History of Methodism, Contemporary Manifestations of the Holy Spirit, Intimacy with God, Being Filled with the Spirit, and Impartation.

Shepherding Renewal book by Rev. Dr. Frank Billman - Perhaps you have had one of the Aldersgate Renewal Ministries (ARM) local church renewal events at your church.  Perhaps you and/or some people from your church have attended the national Aldersgate conference, the Methodist School for Supernatural Ministry, or some other ARM event.  How do you evaluate what happened during the event  and what may be happening now in your church?  What steps should be taken next?  If issues have arisen, how are you going to deal with them?
