Renewal for my Pastor

Aldersgate Renewal Ministries loves ministers and the work they do for the kingdom of God.  Being in ministry, ministers struggle with burnout, frustration, depression, weariness, loneliness, and emptiness.  ARM believes everyone needs ministry! 

Here are some alarming research about ministers:

  • 1,500 pastors leave the ministry each month due to moral failure, spiritual burnout, or contention in their churches.
  • 90% of pastors work more than 46 hours a week, leading to burnout.
  • 50% of pastors' marriages will end in divorce.
  • 80% of pastors believe that pastoral ministry affects their families negatively.
  • 80% of pastors and 84% of their spouses feel unqualified and discouraged in their role as pastors.
  • 50% of pastors are so discouraged that they would leave the ministry if they could, but have no other way of making a living.
  • 80% of seminary and Bible school graduates who enter the ministry will leave the ministry within the first five years.
  • 70% of pastors constantly fight depression.
  • 70% of pastors say they have a lower self-image now than when they started in the ministry.
  • 61% of pastors admit that they "have few close friends."

Doctor of Ministry in Supernatural Ministry  - United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH, one of our official United Methodist Seminaries, is partnering with Aldersgate Renewal Ministries in offering a fully accredited, 3 year Doctor of Ministry Degree in Supernatural Ministry starting in January, 2013.

Minister and Spouse Retreat 2015
 - April 7-10, 2015 at the Aldersgate Renewal Center in Goodlettsville, TN.  This retreat is a four day experience to refresh and renew married couples who are involved in ministry.  Participants are encouraged and strengthened as they experience worship, prayer, and sharing from seasoned leaders.

Aldersgate 2014 Conference: The conference is also designed to equip people of all ages (youth, young adults, and adults) to live in the power of the Holy Spirit.  Equipping Sessions will examine the person and work of the Holy Spirit and explore how the Holy Spirit equips us to be the hands and feet of Jesus ministering to a world that needs the hope of the Gospel.  New option this year; Lay Servant training approved by GBOD July 17-20, 2014 in Springfield, IL.

ARCottages - We invites you to come away for a season of rest to one of our ARCottages. Snuggled just north of Nashville, Tennessee in the cozy town of Goodlettsville, you will find the ARCottages to be a place of refreshing, renewal and intimacy with God. ARM has three private, fully furnished homes set apart for use by clergy and their families to come free of charge for refreshment and personal retreat. The ARCottages have full kitchens and washers and dryers. There are also many local restaurants,shopping and tourist attractions in the area.  Come, pray, and get away with God in the peaceful atmosphere of the ARCottages.

The Methodist School For Supernatural Ministry: Session III - Healing Four days to train clergy and lay people to do supernatural ministry from a Methodist perspective. Participants will experience times of worship, ministry, and impartation.  In this session we'll look at these questions and more: What are different ways we hear from God? What are some obstacles to hearing clearly? How can we speak God's words to others?

Ministers Retreat 2014 - April 22-24, 2014 at the Aldersgate Renewal Center in Goodlettsville, TN.  This event offering clergy and ministry leaders an opportunity for a spiritual redo.  Join us for three days set aside to worship, to pray, and to connect with God and with others.  More Information coming soon!

Fall Day Apart Women’s Ministry Event "Kingdom, Power, and Glory" - September 19-20, 2014 at the Aldersgate Renewal Center in Goodlettsville, TN.  Come for a day of worship, teaching, and fellowship with other women that are seeking communion with God.

Shepherding Renewal book by Rev. Dr. Frank Billman - Perhaps you have had one of the Aldersgate Renewal Ministries (ARM) local church renewal events at your church.  Perhaps you and/or some people from your church have attended the national Aldersgate conference, the Methodist School for Supernatural Ministry, or some other ARM event.  How do you evaluate what happened during the event  and what may be happening now in your church?  What steps should be taken next?  If issues have arisen, how are you going to deal with them? This resource is designed to help clergy, congregational shepherds, address these kinds of questions after the event.
