History Timeline

  • 1977 – Conception and birth of The United Methodist Renewal Services Fellowship, Inc under the Executive Leadership of Ross Whetstone.
  • 1978 – First official function: Wesleyan Heritage Tour
  • 1979 – First national Aldersgate conference
  • 1986 – Birth of strategic prayer ministry initiatives
  • 1989 – Gary Moore becomes UMRSF’s 2nd Executive Director
  • 1992 – First intentional prayer “on-site with insight” at General Conference
  • 1994 – UMRSF moves from downtown Nashville to Goodlettsville, TN
  • 1995 – UMRSF begins doing business as Aldersgate Renewal Ministries (ARM)
  • 1996 – First Aldersgate in the Philippines and LISS in Russia
  • 1998 – God allows ARM to miraculously purchase a new facility which became the Aldersgate Renewal Center
  • 2000 – ARM purchases first home for clergy rest and refreshment called the ARCottage
  • 2001 – Translation of LISS into Spanish and LISS in Paraguay beginning ARM’s consistent international ministry
  • 2001 – First ARM Resource: “Message of the Cameos”
  • 2004 – ARM begins overseeing Lay Witness Mission
  • 2007 – First joint sponsorship of an event with the GBOD
  • 2009 – Jonathan Dow becomes ARM’s 3rd Executive Director
  • 2009 – Birth of the Methodist School of Supernatural Ministry
