A Day Apart '08 "To Encounter God"

Prayer and worship that brings God's healing, restoring presence

Encountering God is not a people-centered program. The day will not focus on exhortation, but on experiencing God. Facilitators will provide experiences of prayer and worship designed to enable you to draw away from the demands of everyday life to center on spending quality time with God.

Seasons of Worship

As we enounter God in Spirit-empowered worship, we will never be the same again. Encountering God always brings change. Worship wil be blended to include both traditional and contemporary styles of praise and worship. Come to experience worship that binds up the broken-hearted and sets the captives free.

Silent Soul Surrender

Times of refreshing often come as we strip away the striving of our soul in the discipline of silence. A directed time of silence will be introduced as a tool for encountering God in listening.

Concert of Prayer

A model for corporate prayer: concert of prayer is designed to allow the people of God to pray together using corporate, small group, and individual prayer, both spoken and sung. Using the harp and bowl imagery from Revelation 5:8, this unique model is both interactive and experiential.

Soaking Prayer:

"Soaking Prayer" is an opportunity for participants to rest quietly with soft music while they are silently prayed over by a small team of people. Persons who have experienced soaking prayer testify of feelings of great peace and significant encounters with Jesus.

Prayer Team Ministry

Personal prayer ministry using trained prayer teams will be provided as part of the day apart. Regardless of your need, you can come knowing that there will be an opportunity to receive personal prayer in an environment of loving care.

Group Interaction

Participants will be given the opportunity to reflect on scripture as our basis for discussion. We will share each other's desire to encounter God.
