The first national Aldersgate Conference was held in the United Sates in 1979.  As Aldersgate Conferences grew and were held yearly in theUnited States a desire was expressed to hold such conferences for United Methodists in The Philippines as well.  Ling and Lourdes Juane were part of the Aldersgate Renewal Ministries Board of Directors and Advisory Council and they were responsible for organizing the first Aldersgate conference in The Philippines in 1993.

Now this conference attracts over 1,000 participants to the Teacher’s Camp at BaguioCity in the beginning of January each year.  All 3 of our Filipino United Methodist Bishops participate in the conference as well as District Superintendents and seminary professors and students.  In 2009 over 200 pastors met separately during the day for a concurrent Pastor’s Summit.  Encounter God Retreats are held at other times of the year.
