A mission of love. God sent our ARM team to Estonia to love His people there. There are 26 churches in the country of 1.3 million people. There are about 2000 people attending these churches. The eastern part of the country uses Russian as the primary language. We met and ministered with a team of Estonian brothers and sisters that varied from 5 to 8 people at any one time. Their contributions to local coordination, worship and translation were vital and so appreciated. Their passion for God and love of their country was evident. Many shared a true burden for the lost. Our hearts were broken for the needs of the Estonian people. Christ’s love brought healing, encouragement and restoration to many.
A mission of prayer. We traveled over 2000 kilometers (1,242.7 mi.) in our mission bus. It became a mobile prayer station. Traveling and praying filled our days as we literally circled the country that is only about 200 miles by 200 miles in size. Everywhere we went, we prayed over the land of Estonia. Besides the six locations where we ministered in Lord, Teach Us to Pray and Life In the Spirit Experience, we stopped at several churches just to pray and bless the pastors. We stopped at a camp where much ministry occurs over the summer and had an opportunity to pray for and bless a missionary couple from Australia staying there. At the invitation of a local architect, we stopped at a large abandoned facility. Our new Estonian friend has a vision for using this abandoned building as a children’s hospital, orphanage, and training facility. We prayed fervently for God to fulfill His vision for kingdom ministry in this place. Another special highlight was coming to the border of Russia and stopping for a powerful time of prayer for that nation.
A mission of power. The power of Christ was manifest throughout our time in Estonia. Through teaching, sharing, and prayer ministry many people found release from depression, rejection, unforgiveness, and tormenting spirits. Physical, emotional and spiritual healings were evident. Many local church pastors found spiritual refreshment urgently needed to continue ministry. We experienced "kingdom encounters" one after another. The teaching ARM team numbered 11 with three from England participating in their first ministry opportunity outside of their own country. The American team came from Nebraska to Florida with half participating in a first ministry opportunity overseas.
ARM and the American team members funded participant's manuals for both events in Estonian and Russian. This will allow a lasting legacy and continuing ministry for the church in Estonia. The Methodist Church leadership is already praying for direction and next ministry opportunities.
